I've been saying "we" this whole time, but to make things make more sense, it's now "I".
Hiii I'm -LightningPig, founder, owner and member of UEDM. Before it was United EDM, it was Unnoticed EDM. It was created as a place for new producers to find their first fans and get themselves heard. But over time, I've been pushing more and more into UEDM being a place for everyone to learn and grow regardless of how large their follower count is. And now we have some pretty large figures in the community, notably SoundKiller, the CEO of Black Lotus Audio. Don't ask me how or why he's in here he literally just showed up out of nowhere.
Part of my motivation for making UEDM a learning experience for everyone is actually not because I didn't have the opportunity to get much help starting out, quite the opposite. From practically the beginning, I've been taking a virtual electronic music production class, starting with an online summer camp and continuing with the real class. Throughout my learning, I've always thought "Wow, this is super valuable, everyone should have the opportunity to actually learn this stuff, maybe even for free". Because music is something that's extremely important to me. It's the way I can express myself and have an impact on the world, it's how I want to inspire people and what I want my legacy to be. Everyone deserves to be able to actually do their passion correctly. Everyone deserves to create art that actually sounds like what they want it to sound like. And that's what this server is aimed to help with.
UEDM has been a running project of mine for over 3 years now, and I'm always thinking of how I can expand and improve it. Maybe we'll get a real website someday. Maybe we start a record label. Maybe we even make merch. All stuff I've thought about doing in the future. All I know is that learning is better together, and making music is extremely rewarding. That's really what I'm trying to spread, that's the goal here. Unity and creativity.
